Maui Prince Hotel
Secluded
at Makena Resort on a perfect smile of a beach at the foot of Haleakala,
The Maui Prince Hotel is a sanctuary. The serenity can be felt from the
first moment a lei of seashells is draped over your shoulders and you are
welcomed with the genuine smiles and warm attention of the staff.
The entire hotel is built around an Asian meditation garden with stone
paths, quiet corners for contemplation, waterfalls, and streams swarming
with brilliant red and gold carp. The roof is the sky. The door of every
room opens to this atrium, while the windows and lanai look out upon the
ocean.
Most people settle into the immediate serenity and find themselves sitting
beside the pool or in a cabana on the beach, watching all the little white
boats streaming to Molokini. And if the sea is calm, they may hear the
great humpback whales singing in the deep. Immediately upon entering the
hotel grounds, you are struck by a sense of tranquility and serene beauty.
And no wonder. All rooms open to a central courtyard featuring immaculate
Japanese gardens and mesmerizing koi ponds. The moving quilt work of color
is a wonderful contrast to the precision landscaping of the trees, shrubs
and rocks. An interesting note: Most of the koi fish are rumored to be
decades old; some may even live to end of this century. Learn more about
our hotel features here.
Accommodations
Guest rooms at the Maui Prince Hotel offer views of an expanse of ocean
and the varied beauty of Makena's landscape. You can watch the sun rise
over Haleakala, then slide into the water behind the offshore island of
Molokini. Like many of our guests, you may choose to do little else.
Guest Rooms: All 310 rooms are well-appointed in traditional island decor,
with all the amenities that one would expect in a first-class hotel
including spacious lanais and double doors.
Suites: Each one of the 19 suites is richly appointed in the finest
interiors with a Hawaiian flair. Every oceanfront suite has a living room
and a spectacular ocean view.
The Maui Prince Hotel rests on a peaceful
Hawaiian white-sand beach at the foot of Haleakala, Maui's highest
mountain. An Asian meditation garden surrounds the resort and leads our
guests down stone paths to quiet corners for contemplation or romance.
Soothing waterfalls and streams enhance the splendor of the hotel. Each
and every room is situated to allow our guests to look out upon the ocean
from personal lanais.
